As we learn more about God we will eventually come to a crossroad.  Some have faced this question long ago and some have been wrestling with it with each new revelation of who God says we are.  The question is, do we want to be who He says we are or do we want to remain who we are without Him?  This is truly a question that we cannot ignore.  For ignoring this question is choosing life without God, without His love, kindness and forgiveness.  Without choosing God’s forgiveness, justification and righteousness, we are choosing justice and His punishment.  For we have seen He is a just God.  Our sin can be laid on us or our sin can be laid on Christ. In our humble confession, we can choose.  Not choosing Him is rejecting Him.

Oh friend, run to Him!

John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”

Fall at his knees!  Admit your need for Him.

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Know you are loved,

John 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”

 forgiven,

1John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

justified,

Colossians 2:13b-14 “God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.”

  and righteous!

2 Corinthians 5:21 “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

  • Can I claim these status’ for myself?
  • Can I rest in who God says I am?
  • Do I want to claim these statuses?

If you are currently wrestling with the path you will choose, I am praying for you. If you have chosen the path of following Jesus but are still struggling with what it looks like to walk under His forgiveness and love, I am praying for you. I have been praying for you.

I would love to connect more and hear how I can be praying for you or help navigate this road no matter where you are on it. Feel free to reach out on Facebook or Instagram @stepstotrusting .

My Prayer:

Father, you said let the children come to you and we pray that You would help us to come as your children and fall into Your loving arms! Lord, may we receive Your grace.  Help us to be honest with our short comings and rely on You as Savior.  Teach us to rest in your promises and extend your grace to others as a reminder that no one is righteous.  Thank you that though we fall short,  You look on us with forgiveness and love and see Your righteousness in us.  We praise you Father for working in us.  We  praise you that You have given us an identity and a value.  In Jesus’s name, amen.
