To the woman in Target who asked me why I looked so sane and calm as I shopped with my five kids.

I wish I had the courage to tell you the truth.  I wish I took the time to look you in the eye and ask you if you really wanted to know.

Do you? Do you want to know why I look like I can function and be joyful as chaos happens around me?

By the grace of God.  By His strength and mercy.  By striving with His energy and not my own (Colossians 1:29).

My life is hectic and hurried.  It is full of cries (sometimes the kids but often my own).  There are voices that are constantly calling for attention.

There are pulls in every direction and yet there is One that anchors my soul (Hebrews 6:19). My God, whose promises are sure and unchanging.  He promised a way that even though we will have failures and sin, we will be able to come into His presence (Romans 3:23-24). He sent His son, Jesus, the one that pulls me to reality, who shows me my sin and reminds me that though I will never be enough – He is more than enough (Romans 3:23-24).

He is the one that forgives me and allows me to stand in His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21).

He is the one that gives me peace (Philippians 4:7).

He is the one that takes my burdens and makes them His (Matthew 11:28).

He is the one that carries me when I am broken (Isaiah 40:11).

I can do all things through Him who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13).

Oh Ladies, it is my desire that you would know His peace and His provision even in the busyness that swirls around you. One small blog post cannot tell of His greatness and love for us.  It cannot explain the mystery of Jesus’s work in our lives. If you want to talk more about this relationship that gives us peace in His presence please contact me. I would love to talk with you. You can leave a comment below or message me on FB.  I pray that you would find your peace in Jesus Christ as chaos swirls around you may He be your rock (Psalm 18:2).

Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
